At the 27th meeting of Heads of Government it was agreed– in order to ensure a safe and secure environment for the hosting of the ICC CWC 07 – to the creation of a CARICOM Single Domestic Space and to the mechanism for securing the Space.
The Sub Committee of Commissioners of Police and Military Chiefs recommended the creation of a Regional Security Strategy with Border Security, Intelligence Sharing and a Regional Security Plan being the main components.
The Regional Intelligence Committee (RIC) held three (3) International Intelligence Practitioners (IIP) meeting to operationalize the intelligence Sharing portion of the strategy.
An important outcome of the first meeting of the IIP was the recommendation for the formation of a Regional Intelligence Fusion Centre.(RIFC)

•Performs 24/7 Border Security support to the JRCC
•Is responsible for the TIMELY delivery of actionable intelligence to Law Enforcement and Security Agencies
To provide intelligence support to regional and international stakeholders in furtherance of the security imperatives mandated by CARICOM”
